New for 2011-2012  California PTA -$500.00 Scholarships for graduating seniors to acknowledge the achievement for volunteer service in their school and community.  Applications available in the Guidance Office; please see Mrs. Scherf or Mrs. Bergen.  Application, including two references, are due to the California PTA by February 1, 2012.


CSEA - The California School Employee Association (CSEA) Scholarship Award Program provides financial assistance to dependent children of CSEA members, helping many continue their education after high school. Any graduating 2011 senior with a parent in CSEA Chapter 224 may apply.  Applications available in the Guidance Office; please see Mrs. Scherf or Mrs. Bergen.  Scholarship application deadline April 2012 Specific date will be updated when the Guidance Staff receives the updated information for 2011-2012.


CUEA - Scholarship applications for graduating high school seniors of CUEA members are now available from the CUEA office. The parent or guardian of the applicant must be a teacher, speech pathologist, nurse, psychologist or counselor employed in CUSD and a current member of CUEA. The student must be a graduating senior with an overall GPA of 3.2 or better and the student must be planning to attend college.

Capistrano Coast National Charity League Scholarship - Open to seniors from local high schools with an academic GPA of 3.25 or higher who have participated in community service with verified financial need.  Applications available in the Guidance Office; please see Mrs. Scherf or Mrs. Bergen.  Scholarship application deadline April 2012. Specific date will be updated when the Guidance Staff receives the updated information for 2011-2012.


OC Human Relations invites students in grades 8-12 to prepare a short, inspirational speech on why and how youth are the right people to help put an end to bullying. Orange County students are invited to enter OC Human Relations YouthSpeak contest. A $500 cash scholarship will be awarded to the student with the best speech. CAASFEP Scholarship  (California Association of State and Federal Education Programs) - Open to seniors who plan to enroll in a accredited college or university who exemplify leadership and involvement in community service, have an overall GPA of 3.0, hve demonstrated committment to learning and have experience working with children/young people.  One award will be for students interested in pursuing a degree in education.  Applications available in the Guidance Office; please see Mrs. Scherf or Mrs. Bergen. Orange County Legal Secretaries Association (OCLSA) - Eula Mae Jett Scholarship program.   Open to high school seniors who have successfuly completed secretarial and/or business courses in high school, and will be enrolled in the 2011 fall semester at a college or business school offering a course of study in the legal field.  Applications available in the Guidance Office; please see Mrs. Scherf or Mrs. Bergen.  Scholarship deadline March 2012.  Specific date will be updated when the Guidance Staff receives the updated information for 2011-2012

Eagle Community Credit Union - High school juniors and seniors as well as college freshmen and sophomores eligible to apply!  Applicants must be an Eagle Credit Union member or a child, legal dependent, or grandchild of a member.  If you're not a member and would like to apply, simply visit www.eaglecu.org/join to join.  Eagle Community Credit Union will award one $5,000 scholarship and five $1,000 scholarships to deserving students in 2011.  You'll find everything you need - from an application to rules - at www.eaglecu.org/scholarships, or visit one or their branches for more information.


Hispanic Scholarship Fund  Scholarship available for graduating high school seniors and students in all levels of college.  Open to all students enrolling for the first time at a college or university as a full-time student.  Candidates must have a GPA of 3.3 to 4.0 and demonstrate leadership skills and financial need. CSUF Future Scholars was established by the CSU Scholarship Program in an effort to www.cox-cares.org/scholarships increase college participation of disadvantaged students.  Each year at California State University Fullerton, a total of fifty incoming freshmen and first year transfer students are selected as scholarship recipients and are awarded $1000.  Students may pick up an application in the SJHHS Guidance Dept.
