Link Crew Informational Meetings!
Are you interested in having an effect on SJHHS for years to come? We are looking for dedicated, responsible, fun-loving sophomores and juniors to be a part of Link Crew. Please come to an informational meeting on either Wednesday, May 1 or Thursday, May 9 at lunch in Mr. Schreiber’s room D03.
Link Crew leaders lead groups of incoming freshmen at our Freshmen Orientation, mentor a handful of 9th graders, and lead active, enjoyable events throughout the year. This is a program that not only looks great on college applications, but is fun for the leaders as well. Our incoming freshman class is a BIG group, so we are looking for a lot of great Stallions to lead the way.
Below are dates and events you are required to attend as a Link Leader. Please make sure you are available to attend these events before you apply.
- Link Crew Leader Development Day: Thursday, May 30th, 2013 ~ 8:00am-10:25am
- *Link Crew Leader Training Days: Tuesday, August 27th, 2013 & Wednesday, August 28th, 2013 ~ 8:00am-12:00pm
- **Freshmen Orientation (The BIG SHOW): Friday, August 30th, 2013 ~ 12:00pm-5:00pm
- Tailgate Party: Friday, August 30th, 2012 ~ 5:00pm and game at 7:00pm!
- First Day of School: Monday, September 9th; Wear your Link Crew t-shirt and help with directions and questions.

Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, students from the junior and senior classes are trained to be Link Crew Leaders. As positive role models, Link Crew Leaders are mentors, motivators, leaders and teachers who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school and help facilitate freshman success. Link Crew provides the structure for freshman to receive support and guidance from juniors and seniors who have been through the challenges that high school poses, and understand that the transition to a larger school can sometimes be overwhelming.
Link Crew begins with an interactive and powerful orientation that makes freshmen excited and proud to be attending SJHHS and allows them to begin developing relationships and strategies that will contribute to their success at SJHHS.
After orientation, Link Crew continues, providing a variety of both Academic and Social Follow Up Activities throughout the year. Academic Follow Ups are lessons presented by trained Link Crew Leaders during visits to Freshman classes; Social Follow Ups are events in which the freshmen and Leaders attend fun social events together.
