Dean McElroy

Dean McElroy

Good Day, and welcome to Dean McElroy's personal webpage.  I am the director of all instrumental music (all band and orchestras, marching band, pit orchestra, and AP music theory) at SJHHS. I began my teaching career at Aliso Niguel High School, and I was fortunate to be able to be honored with the Visual and Performing Arts spot on the planning team for San Juan Hills High School.  I have been here since the school's opening in 2007.  In that time, I've seen our program grow from less than 20 Freshmen only in each band and orchestra into 2 bands and 3 orchestras - playing some of the top literature at a very high level.  Teaching is a strong passion of mine, and being part of the musical development of young adults throughout the years has been an honor.  Personally, I a married, have three children (19,15,11), am a huge Angel, Laker, and Charger fan,

Please follow the course links to the left for day to day happenings in each class.  Performance schedules and more detailed information can be found on the instrumental music page.  Please feel free to email me with any questions about the Instrumental Music Program.
